The Green Core Training (GCT) provides environmental literacy and workplace readiness training to people in the Kansas City region using a nationally recognized curriculum, and then helps program graduates find green jobs suited to their education, skills, and interests.
There are five phases to the GCT. First, we promote the training. Second, through interviews, we determine which prospective students to admit. Third, we run the multi-week training, bringing community partners and employers into the classroom to speak to the students. Fourth, we assist program graduates in determining which jobs are of interest to them and then finding and applying for those jobs. Fifth, we work with employers to facilitate the hiring of our graduates.
